| Notes | This binary system, consisting of an orange primary and blue secondary star, offers a striking color contrast to the visual observer. The two stars, magnitudes 5.3 and 6.7, have a 20.3" separation at a 271° position angle. This double is also known as the Spring Alberio because of it's close color match to Beta Cygni. This image was published in the Spotlight on Coma Berenices article of Ireland's Astronomy & Space monthly magazine, March 2006. |
